Gua Sha (gwah shah) is an ancient healing tradition practiced as folk medicine. It is a method of scraping the skin with an instrument to cause redness, thereby cleansing the body and invoking a healing response. The practice langished with the advent of modern medicine but is enjoying a resurgence of popularity in traditional acupuncture. These seminars do not address the traditional use of Gua Sha, but instead promote the use of the instruments by bodyworkers to achieve effective and efficient relief of various myofascial conditions.
